I guess this is not a bad thing. It just amazes me. So much to do... so little time.
Sorry I haven't written much lately. Real life keeps us running on occasion. Doesn't give me much time for day-dreaming 'in my mind's eye'. But today I'm back at Bailey's Cove - enjoying the chill in the air. The cats, Toby, and I have a fire going in the fireplace and hot chocolate on the stove. We're listening to the sound of the gulls flying overhead and the crackling of the logs. Simple, but sweet.
No TV, no radio, no phone (I do have my cell for emergencies), no noise... but nature's... the sound of the gulls and the surf. And later, I may take my sketch pad out to the porch and play around a bit. It's been a long time since I've felt the stirring to sketch or water color. I think the activity thrives in solitude.
Thibs can sit in his window and watch the world go by. The others will sit or lay close by and watch me - ocassionally stopping to swat at each other or get verbally active. Toby keeps us aware of any activity close to the house or beach.
I may have to get a portable CD player as sometimes a little soft music or Willie Nelson is appreciated. Depends on my mood.
A walk or run on the beach later (maybe a game of frisbe with Toby too) will chase the 'sleepies' away and then we'll settle in with some hot home-made vegetable soup and perhaps a florintine torte (think that's what La Madeleine's calls them) - actually when I make them it's a sort of combination pizza/flatbread/faccocia (sp?) that is covered with onions, garlic, tomato slices, and fresh basil and drizzled in olive oil. That's my supper plan.
Probably a dull day for some, but it suits me right now. There will be Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to attend to soon enough. BTW, I picked up some cute Halloween decorations yesterday at the new Super Target that just opened. Here is a pic:
On the left where the 'pumpkin patch' arrow indicates, there are a few wooden pumpkins stuck in the ground.
Well, that's it for today. Wishing you a happy Sunday!
